Why does Scout need access to my Gmail?

  1. Scout uses your email address to verify your identification in order to allow you to log into the Scout platform.

  2. Scout requests that you grant access to certain permissions in order to be able to send emails on your behalf, when using Scout’s platform to send email campaigns.

Can't I just use my email and password?

Currently, Scout is only compatible with Gmail OAuth as an option to login for the reasons below:

  1. Enhanced Security: 1. By utilizing OAuth, our SaaS tool never stores or has access to your Gmail password. Instead, the authentication process is handled entirely by Google, ensuring that your login credentials remain secure and protected.
  2. Trusted Identity Provider: 1. By leveraging Gmail OAuth, we can take advantage of Google's secure authentication protocols, leveraging their expertise and industry-leading security measures.
  3. Simplified Login Process: OAuth eliminates the need for you to remember yet another username and password combination for our SaaS tool.
  4. Seamless Account Integration: With Gmail OAuth, our SaaS tool can seamlessly integrate with your Gmail account, allowing for efficient and streamlined user experience and a simplified onboarding process

Scout employees do not have access to your email or your passwords!
